Helen Ramirez Cordero born August 18, 1921 in Los Angeles, California to Guadalupe Banuelos Ramirez (deceased) and Salvador Ramirez (deceased) went to be in the rest of the Lord on May 29, 2021. She attended school in Los Angeles; after moving to Chihuahua, Mexico she graduated with a diploma from a Business Academy. She briefly worked for the Mexican Railroad Workers Syndicate in Chihuahua.
During this time she married Alfonso Cordero (deceased), and to his union were born son Luis E. Cordero (Gloria) and daughter Mary Ruth Cordero (Ruben, deceased). Moving back to Los Angeles, she briefly worked for the Sears and Roebuck Store. After moving to El Paso, Texas, she worked at J.C. Penny Store for 36 years, she retired in July 1991.
Helen was a good Christian woman that had a kind heart for everyone. She sacrificed greatly to provide for her mother, her daughter and son, and her three brothers Luis Ramirez (now 99), Albert Ramirez (deceased) and Raul Ramirez (deceased). She deeply loved her daughter and son, as well as her extended family including the many beloved nieces and nephews, and to include the children that lovingly called her Ama, Granny, and Grandma Helen.
The viewing will be held on Tuesday June 29, 2021 from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. with vigil/rosary at 2:00 P.M. at Martin Funeral Home East, 1460 George Dieter. Funeral Mass will be at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 4805 Byron Street on June 30, 2021 at 9:30 A.M. Burial will follow the mass at Evergreen East Cemetery, 12400 E. Montana at 11:30 A.M. Due to Pandemic concerns, it is requested that face mask be worn at all services.
