Gustavo Fernandez Jr.

Gustavo Fernandez, Jr., known affectionately as “Boy” to those who were close to him, passed away January 20, 2024, four days short of his 42nd birthday. He was born January 24, 1982, and raised with all the love a mother and her village could hold in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from Franklin High School and was the owner of Prizm Point Graphics.

Boy had a beautiful heart, he was a loving and loyal father, brother, son, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. He loved his baby girl Estrella more than words can express. He was a protector of his family. He was a friend to all, always willing to give a helping hand. He was a talented, self-taught businessman, always using his talents to help others and teach his craft to those who wanted to learn. He was a great cook in the kitchen and on the grill. He enjoyed delighting our palates with his tasty homemade pizzas, salsas, chili-poppers, chicken wings, baby-back ribs to name a few of his specialties. He enjoyed the outdoors and enjoyed shooting, archery, fishing and occasionally a game of golf and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Gustavo is survived by his daughter Estrella Ramona Fernandez, his sister Eliana Marie Pier (Peter Fogel), his mother Maria Isela Pier, his grandparents Teodoro and Virginia Gonzalez, his uncles and aunts Jose Gonzalez (Sylvia Gonzalez), Octavio Gonzalez (Sylvia Gonzalez), J. Carlos Gonzalez, Patty Gonzalez, Cristina Pulley (Woodrow Pulley), his cousins Jose Gonzalez Jr. (Danielle Gonzalez), Casandra Gonzalez, Israel Salazar (Gloria Salazar), Linda Cardenas (Christopher Cardenas), Esmeralda Gonzalez, Lorie Gonzalez (Gilberto Ramirez), Elizabeth Gonzalez (Julian Reyes), J. Carlos Gonzalez Jr., Olivia Pulley (Andrel Owens), Kristen Pulley and Maygan Pulley, second cousins Logan, Jasmin, Genesis, Daisy and Israel Jr.

Forever in our hearts, until we meet again, for our God is faithful.

A visitation for Gustavo will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:45 PM, with funeral service at 12:45 PM, at Funeraria del Angel Restlawn, 8817 Dyer St, El Paso, Texas 79904. Graveside service will follow Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 8700 Dyer St, El Paso, Texas 79904.
