He was a Retired Sergeant First Class in the United States Army serving between 1973-1993. George was a very proud soldier along with being a proud veteran. Also worked as a government contracted mechanic as a civilian. A majority of his life belonged to Uncle Sam.
His love for sports was very evident as he was official, umpire or referee for many sports to include football, baseball, volleyball and soccer. George did this for so many years starting back in 1979 all the way to his last ball game in 2018. He did all kinds of ages all the way up to high school. That was his passion to do these games. He officiated games in different states from Texas, New Mexico all the way to Virgina. George was a kind, caring man that did much for his family. He was also a lifelong Washington Redskins Fan.Survived by Eva Gomez wife, Brother Steve Clark, Children Bobbie Ayer, Angie Svailitti, Joanne Burdette and Alfonso Gomez III, with numerous grandkids totalling 12 and 6 great grandkids.
Visitation February 13, 2023 from 4pm-8pm at 1462 North Zaragoza rd Prayer/Rosary 6pm . Burial February 14, 2023 at 10:30 am at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
