Francisco was born December 5th, 1935 in Chihuahua, Mx to Lino Carrera and Cleofitas Lagunas. From an early age he had a work ethic that was second to none. He was an entrepreneur that started his ventures in Juarez, Mx. It was there that he met the love of his life Maria Carrera. Together they decided to move to the US in the best interest of their family. In 1983 his hard work came to fruition as he opened the doors to “Carrera’s Grocery”, in Fabens, Tx. He cared for the community as if it were his own and created strong bonds of friendship that lasted a lifetime.
Francisco was known by all as a kind hearted hard working man who dedicated his life to his family. He is survived by his wife Maria, three children Francisco, Sylvia, and Elizabeth and six grandchildren Christina, Marcus, Natalie, Sarah, Luis, and Steven. He was preceded in death by his two children Luis and Carolina.
Visitation for Francisco will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m. at Crestview Funeral Home, 1462 North Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, TX 79936. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church with Committal Service to follow at 11:30 a.m. at Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery.
