Filiberta Apodaca Valles, 93, passed away on February 2, 2019. She was born on February 10, 1925 in Socorro, Texas. She graduated from Ysleta High School in 1942 and retired from Fort Bliss as a Civil Servant. She was a faithful member at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church where she served as a catechist for many years. Filiberta was married to Eulalio Valles for 63 years. She is survived by her children, Romie Gomez (Oscar), Annie Gomez (Nacho), Sylvia Montana, Richard Valles (Irma), Freddy Valles (Elvira), Irene Valles (David), and Sandra Palomino (Robert), 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson. Pallbearers will be Eric Gomez, Christopher Gomez, Gabriel Montana, Jacob Valles, Nicholas Valles, Aaron Palomino. All services will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 5pm-9pm with a Vigil at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, February 7 at 9am. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
