Enedina Carmen Reese

Beloved Mother of Margie Kennedy, Rosemary Castro, Christina P., Dolores Galindo, Teresa Laine, Barbara Ann Enos. Grandmother to Maria, William, Michael, Steven Ray, Angel, Jacqueline, Johnny, Ted, Nick, Chris, Joseph, Beto, Orlando, Michelle, and Virginia. Great Grandchildren: Jason, Bella, Michael, Isabel, Kristina, Mia, Gabriela, Nivaan and Baby Nick. Beloved Aunt to multiple nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Pedro and Maria Macias. Her siblings: Pedro Macias Jr., Beto Ramirez, Rudolfo Maldonado, Rosa Reyes, Gloria Martinez, Anna Maria Villalobos.

Survived by her beloved Aunt, Maria Dolores Macias. Her siblings, Beatriz Beltran, Raul Macias, Otilia Dela Rosa.

She was born in Juarez, Mexico and migrated to El Paso where her Uncle Francisco established the Good Service Dairy founded in 1904. Enedina’s Father Pedro helped his brother, Francisco and sisters develop and manage the dairy where she has some of her fondest memories playing with her esteemed cousin, Salvador (Toly) Macias, her siblings and cousins.

Enedina married Robert Castro and moved to California, where they welcomed six beautiful girls: Margie, Rosemary, Christina, Dolores, Teresa and Barbara Ann. As her daughters were growing up in San Francisco, St. Mary’s Cathedral Parish and School became Enedina’s sanctuary and the source of support from residing Pastors: Father Rasmussen, Father Keane and parishioners. Five of her daughters attended Cathedral Parochial Schools. Margie was lovingly raised by our Grandparents, Uncles and Aunts. She completed her education in El Paso, Tx.

Enedina’s first place of employment was with the famous “El Sombrero” Restaurant in San Francisco. When the owners retired and closed it, she worked at various hospitality locations in SF. St. Francisco Memorial Hospital-SF was her final place of employment before retiring. Enedina worked tirelessly to support her daughters. She befriended Conce Jacques with her two children, Fred and Patricia. Conce cared for Enedina’s children and was fondly recognized as Tia Conce. Also, her cousin, Cora Martinez and siblings, along with numerous Redwood City cousins who helped Enedina with care and support to her and daughters. She established her U.S. Citizenship in S.F.

Additionally, Enedina was a member of the Screen Actor’s Guild, where she was a background extra in several movies. Notably, Magnum Force with Clint Eastwood and Hal Holbrook. When she wasn’t working or on a movie shoot, she spent her time perfecting her dancing skills with her Uncle, Jess Ramirez who was a professional dancer on Broadway in New York. Enedina was a quick study and danced beautifully. She loved to dance. She was also the BEST Flour tortilla maker in San Francisco.

Special Thanks to Uncle Raul, Cousin Fabian, John Galindo (Son-in-law), Margie and Bill Kennedy, Cousin Salvador (Toly) and Margie Macias, Norma Bujunda and staff of Ayuda Home for all the support, love, kindness bestowed upon Enedina. She loved her family and caregivers dearly.
