Elvia was born to Manuel F. Mora and Emma Rodriguez Mora on September 4, 1922 in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. She was the loving wife of Rudolph Miles for 72 years and was a stay at home mother to their 10 children. She was a life time member of the St. Patrick Altar Society where she served as President. She also was a member of the Christ Child Society knitting layettes for poor and needy babies. As a member of the Ladies of Charity she enjoyed bagging groceries for the poor families of El Paso on a monthly basis. She was also a long time member of the Pan American Round Table where she served on various committees. Elvia loved to knit and crochet which enabled her to make many blankets for children suffering from cancer and for needy children. As a young adult, she was one of the founding members of the Club Juvenil Deportivo of Ciudad Juarez. Later in life, she especially enjoyed playing Canasta with her friends every Wednesday. She kept her sense of humor throughout her life and that will be missed along with her beautiful smile.
