David Oscar Reza, 63, of El Paso, Texas, passed away on October 8, 2024. Born on December 3, 1960, in El Paso, David was a man whose heart was as generous as his spirit was vibrant. Known for his infectious energy and his gift for making everyone feel welcomed, David was truly the life of every gathering. His love and joy brightened the lives of all who knew him.
A proud graduate of Irvin High School, Class of 1980, David went on to pursue higher education at El Paso Community College and the University of Texas at El Paso. He was the owner of O.R. Service, Inc., a business specializing in diesel and heavy equipment repair in Texas and California. Additionally, David worked as a lead mechanic for Apache Barricade, where he earned the admiration of his colleagues for his expertise and work ethic.
David’s passions extended far beyond his work. He was an avid guitar player and music lover, and he was deeply fascinated by ancient history, science, and philosophy. A lifelong learner, David was always eager to engage in deep conversations and explore new ideas. He also loved sports and could often be found cheering for his favorite teams.
Above all, David’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sara Lis Reza; his loving daughters, Krystal Moreno and Angelina Reza; his step-daughters Anna Chavarria and Sara Gurrola; his father, Oscar David Reza; his son-in-laws, Rudy Moreno and Daniel Gurrola; and his cherished grandchildren, Isaiah, Annalisa, Ryan, Isabella, and Alana . He is also survived by his siblings, Rose Reza Rader, Annie Benitez, Jorge L. Reza, and several nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
David was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Flores Reza, and his former wife, Cecilia H. Reza.
A celebration of David’s life will take place on November 2, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home East, 1460 George Dieter Dr, El Paso, TX 79936. All who knew and loved David are invited to join in honoring the remarkable man he was.
David’s kindness, his deep love for family, and his endless curiosity will be forever remembered by those fortunate enough to have known him. His legacy of love and joy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
