Corina was born in El Paso, Texas on March 26, 1941. She was the daughter of Antonio & Estela Gonzalez. Being the youngest of four siblings, she is survived only by her sister, Estella Olivas. Her other siblings have too gone to join our Lord. Corina married the love of her life, Benjamin Favela Jr, in 1961. They were together for 44 years until Benjamin passed away in 2005.
Corina was raised in a very close-knit family with love, support and very strong core moral values. She loved and cared deeply for all of her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She too was loved in return and had many dear friends near and far, who enjoyed and cherished her companionship and camaraderie over several years.
Corina graduated from Austin High School in 1960. She was a majorette and took part in Modern Dance. She was a proud Panther! She then went on to study business at El Paso Community College. Early on after she graduated from Austin High School, Corina started worked for Dr. Michael Calabrese DO. She worked for many years as a medical assistant and lab technician. She then went on to work for Kelly Services and Manpower as a territorial sales manager. She also helped her husband and son, Nicholas Favela, manage Ben Favela Paint Contracting, a family business. Corina loved to travel. She was able to travel to various places in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. She was even able to visit various countries in Europe with her eldest son, Michael Favela, during his tour of duty serving our country in the US Air Force while stationed at Ramstein Airbase, West Germany. Her favorite European destiny was to Florence, Italy. Corina's favorite hobby was involving herself in Art. She had an incredible eye for sketching, canvas oil painting, and watercolor. She painted and created several beautiful pieces over the years. She was also quite meticulous with her fashion and appearance. She always dressed for success and was the ultimate example of beauty and grace. She was quite beautiful to the eye of the beholder.
Corina is survived by her sons Michael, Edward and wife Sonia, Nicholas as well as her seven grandchildren, Edward Favela Jr, Tatiana, Zachary, Nicholas Jr., Benjamin, Jordan and Nikki. She loved her grandchildren immensely and always showed them how to live with compassion and care for others. She now rests in eternal peace with her parents, Antonio and Estella, her sister Rosalinda, her brother-in-law Fred Kyle, her brother Antonio Jr., and most of all, her loving husband Benjamin Favela Jr. May they all be rejoicing in His Glory for all eternity.
May she rest in peace with the Lord Jesus Christ for the rest of time.
