Charles Andrew Wende, 86, a resident of Santa Teresa, New Mexico, died Saturday, July 1, 2017, at Bartlett Assisted Living Facility in El Paso, TX. Charles was born February 19, 1931, in Albany, Texas. He graduated from Cisco High School in 1947; as a teenager he sang and played the guitar in a local popular band and worked in a radio and TV repair shop; was a veteran of the Texas Army National Guard; opened and worked in one of the first twin plants as a Manager for Boss Manufacturing Company with factories in El Paso TX, Juarez and Chihuahua, Mexico as well as Farah Manufacturing Company. Charles loved family times and church; he also enjoyed traveling, fishing and hunting. He is a member of Zion Lutheran Church in El Paso, TX.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife Erna Faye Wende and son Gary Wayne Wende.
Charles is survived by his wife Pat, daughter Darlene Palmore and husband Glenn Palmore of El Paso, TX: daughter in law Cona Wende of Dallas, TX: brother Edward Wende and wife Lola Mae Wende of Cisco, TX; granddaughter Michelle Palmore of Dallas, TX:, grandsons Michael Palmore and Wayne Wende of Houston, TX: great grandsons Darren, Brent and Troy Wende; Pat’s daughters, Billie Sue Lillge of NY and Sandra Furlong of WI; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm with a memorial service at 8:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N. Resler Drive, El Paso, TX.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 12:00-1:00 pm with a funeral service at 1:00 pm at Chambers Funeral Home in Cisco, TX with a graveside service to follow at Romney Cemetery.
