On June 3, 2022, Brenda Brown went to the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Brenda was joyfully greeted in Heaven by her parents, Glen Sr. and Marion Holbrook, with her beloved Aunt Gaggy and Uncle Elbert, along with the many aunts, uncles and cousins who went before her.
She was born on April 29, 1952. She is survived by her husband, Alan Brown, her son, Bobby Brown, her daughters, Marion, Olivia, Katie, Ruthie and Lena, and her beloved brother, Glen Holbrook, Jr. She is also survived by her precious grandchildren, who were the lights of her life, Makayla, Tony, Maddison, Aubrey, Matthew, Joey and Amelia.
Brenda would tell you that she was a blessed woman here on earth. Her first blessing was her parents, Glen Sr., and Marion. She was called to be a nurse, which became her lifelong passion. She earned her LVN license in 1970 and spent many years caring for the elderly, and loved it dearly. She was driven to do more and in 1990 she proudly put the R.N. after her name. As an RN, Brenda nursed in hospitals, in ERs and finally as a hospice nurse, which she found to be her true passion in nursing.
Brenda would also tell you that she was blessed in her family life. She and Robert Alan Brown, the love of her life, were married in 1975. They were blessed in 1978 with the birth of their son, Robert Alan Brown, Jr., who was a blessing she never thought to have. After years in the Marine Corps, Alan and Brenda retired to El Paso to be near her father. God wasn't through blessing her yet. In 1993, Marion Brown became their first daughter, followed quickly by Olivia, Ruthie, Katie and Lena. Her first grandchildren Makayla and Tony arrived in 2008. Maddison was born in 2012, followed by Aubrey, Matthew, Joey and Amelia.
Brenda was always able to accept a person as God made them and love them just the way they were. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the medical staff at the Providence West Hospital for the care and kindness they provided. They also wish to most sincerely thank Mariana and her staff at the senior foster care who opened their hearts and provided a loving home for Brenda's last days.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Restlawn, 8817 Dyer, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm on Monday June 13, 2022. Graveside services will be held at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery on June 14, 2022, at 9:30 am. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at Hillcrest Baptist Church at 10:30 am.
