Barbara J. Anderson

Barbara Jean Ford Anderson left us on Monday, March 6, 2023. Born in El Paso, Texas, she opened a dance studio in her parents’ garage at the age of 12 and taught upwards of 25 paying pupils. After graduating from Austin High School at the age of 16, she was immediately hired at Mountain Bell Telephone Company, where she rose to a supervisor position and was well-respected by her colleagues and employees. After retiring, she enjoyed many years of travel. Known as a quick witted friend and a loving and gracious wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be dearly missed by all. She is preceded in death by brother John Ford, son Bruce Rathbun Jr., and daughter Rae Lynne Corle. Barbara is survived by her husband Lee Anderson, sister Louella Leven, daughter Karen Mena, stepson Michael Anderson and his wife Terry, and stepdaughter Patricia van Otterdyk. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Adam, Whitney, Heather, Justin, Lauren, Max, Kailen, and Bryan, and one great-grandson: Mason. Visitation and prayer services will be held on Monday, March 13th from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home East. Interment and funeral services will follow at Fort Bliss Cemetery from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m.
