Our dear mother Alicia (Alice) Lujan Flores peacefully passed away on November 24, 2023, at the age of 96. Alicia was born in El Paso, Texas on October 15, 1927. Survived by her ten children Emma, David (Janet), Thomas, Ida (Larry), James (Cynthia), Magdalene, Lawrence, Matthew (Frances), Frances (Mark) and Terrance. Alicia was preceded in death by her husband, John "Tury" Flores, her firstborn son, David B. Flores and her beloved grandson, John Francis Maya. Her children, twenty-five grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and her great-great granddaughter, Ella, will cherish her memory evermore. Alicia had a gift of unconditional love and acceptance; she welcomed family, friends and strangers alike with open arms and encouraging words. She was a woman of faith, a prayer warrior and a lover of Jesus; thank you for sharing your faith with your family, friends and all those that crossed your path. She was known for generosity, she happily gave without hesitation expecting nothing in return. She had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. An adventurer, she was able to travel to many places, making new friends along the way and sharing her faith. Alicia had a true servant's heart and lived a life of service. She cared for her younger siblings and some of her younger relatives during her youth and later in life, became her mother's (Margarita Pacheco, +) primary caregiver. Alicia was loved and treasured during her years of volunteer service in the Nursery at Abundant Living where she was a member for many years. Known lovingly as 'Grandma Bunda' by her grandchildren, who absolutely adored her, she was a devoted grandmother who loved her grandchildren with all her heart. She and Grandpa John (+) always welcomed an opportunity to care for their many grandchildren. They were the best babysitters. As we bid farewell to a remarkable woman, a beacon of faith and our beloved matriarch we hold on to her lessons of love, faith and community, confident they will continually guide us. Her selflessness, service, joy, enduring strength and perseverance were and still are a source of inspiration to her family and to all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in her words and actions. Rest in peace dear 'Bunda' we love you, thank you for the beautiful memories.
