Alejandra Victoria López-Alvarado, affectionately known as Toya, passed away peacefully at home on December 8, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on January 8, 1929, in Sinaloa de Leyva, Sinaloa, México, to Luciano López Zarabia and Antonieta Pereda. Toya grew up in Topia, Durango, and later moved to Ciudad Juárez, where she met her husband, Luis Miguel Alvarado. They married on August 30, 1949, in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico. Toya and her husband became US Citizens and she has resided in El Paso, TX since 1965.
Victoria was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Luis Miguel Alvarado, her brother Hector López, her sister Rosa María Chacón, and her daughter María Victoria Alvarado. She is survived by her children:

Toya was a loving and caring mother and wife. She enjoyed the company of friends, music, dancing, traveling—especially on cruises to the Caribbean—and playing cards with her friends. She was an excellent cook and had a passion for gardening.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, located at 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX. The funeral mass will take place on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Saint Mark Catholic Church, located at 11700 Pebble Hills Blvd, El Paso, TX.
