Uncle Duffy was always such a positive person. He was always smiling and making everyone laugh. He made me feel welcomed into the family since day one and always showed so much love to us and our kids. He will be missed beyond words. We love you Uncle Duffy. 

My Uncle Duffy was the strongest man I knew.  Along with this strength though was an incredible sense of humor. At restaurants, trips and family gatherings he was always making everyone laugh. Our San Antonio trips are some of my best memories. I loved him and will miss him dearly. Rest In Peace Uncle Duffy.

So many memories- your laugh and all of the good days with the “studs as I knew them.” May you Rest In Peace. Thank you for being Lori’s Nino, the memories of you all in Disneyland and your love will always be with us all. 

My Big Bro-

Oh how your passing has hurt me so much.  I continue to feel your absence every minute of each day that passes. I know that you are in a better place with our precious Mom and Dad who cherished us all.  From our early years, living all together on Alpine St., to the recent past, I have always had the most respect for you.  You continue being my inspiration.  Throughout our lives you were always a strong MACHO guy, like our Dad.  You were lucky to be honored by carrying the name "Adolfo." These last years, our 3-4 hour weekly lunches will forever stay in my heart. Bro, they were a blast - only you and I know what went on during our sessions.  Our mutual childhood memories of Morehead Elementary after-school rock throwing brigade; fist fights with a "Big 3rd Grader" (you a 1st grader, and me not even in school yet!)  You punched him in the stomach while I jumped him from behind and hung for dear life to the back of his neck! We made a great fighting team.  We ran him off and felt like miniature "John Waynes," Then as "young studs" our double dating escapades in Juarez, and at the Smuggler's Inn Happy Hours... our empty beer cans were piled so high we couldn't see across the table; our numerous times when you rescued me from being locked out of the house. 

You were there upon my return from late dates at the wee hours of the morning. You would wake up, unlock the door, and let me in.  Come morning, you defended me from Dad by never admitting you were the culprit who opened the door to let me in. You never wavered under duress. Always my hero, my love for you will never waver. I know you will unlock the doors to heaven for me to sneak in when the time comes to meet again! For some reason, I believe that goodbyes do not exist between bros like us. You continue to be my best friend. Our spiritual connection will be forever.

My Uncle Duffy,

What an inspiring man you were, always had people smiling and laughing. Although I know there were cloudy days I only saw a smile on your face, your energy was positive!
Even in the pain you remained strong! I truly admire your strength and it will never  leave me! 
You taught me how a brother should love his siblings through the relationship you had with my mother and I love you for that.
Thank you for loving us, thank you for loving my children! Thank you for the smiles ( crazy eyes ). Haha
May your soul rest peacefully!

Duffy, I loved You dearly.  We are hurting right now, but I know the Lord has you in his presence.  May You RIP. With all my love we will watch over your family. Thank you for being such a great Brother-In- Law. I will always remember your laughter and funny stories, but mostly your love of family.

My Nino was a strong, loving, and compassionate man. God blessed me with the love and support from my uncle. From going to basketball games or spending time together at cookouts the memories we made will always hold a special place in my heart. I loved this man like a father, I find solace in that my Nino is in heaven. You will always continue to be apart of me and my family. Love you Nino. 

My brother in law was a man of honor and integrity. He valued family above everything else. I was blessed to have known him and truly believe I gained another brother by our close relationship. I will miss him greatly. Rest In Peace Duffy 🎚

My Uncle Duffy was a very funny man. He was always making us laugh. Several memories that I have of him is when he would do these crazy eyes and when I saw the movie Congo for the first time and he did some imitations and it made me laugh so much. Another one is going to San Antonio together and trying oysters for the first time with him. He was a wonderful man and uncle. 

Uncle Duffy always treated me like family since day one. We always talked about the Dallas Cowboys and the Spurs. I will miss him dearly.

My deepest heartfelt condolences to all my cousins and their families. I always liked Duffy’s sense of humor. I remember when he visited in Tucson, he would chase my little daughters with his crazy eyes. They loved him very much, as well.  I will NEVER forget the times I’d spend the night and we would cross  the highway with B-B guns to hunt for lizards. Duffy always had positive things or encouragement to give. God bless all of you. To my cousin, Duffy, put in a good word for me and thank you for the memories.   —- Monchie

My brother Duffy was the best big brother ever. I learned to read at a very young age and I was always looking for someone to sit and listen to me read. He was the one who always stopped what he was doing to sit and listen to his five year old baby sister read out loud.  Loved him for it ❤️ I was “his baby” and his last words to me were “I love you and you’ll always be my baby” 

My Uncle Duffy was the kind of man that instantly brought positive energy into a room. I never heard him speak a word of negativity and his needs were always second to those of his loved ones. I hope I can bring the same kind of happiness he could into the world now that he's at peace.

My brother was one in a million. Generous with his time, his attention, and his willingness to help anyone is part of the legacy he leaves behind. Too many memories to share, but one that stands out was his offering his teenage brother his cool, green Mustang to go out on a date. I'll always love you and miss you my hero.

Words can't express or begin to describe the sadness that you and your family are feeling for the passing of your husband.  May you find comfort in God all mighty and may He guide you through this difficult time.   Please know that you can find support in me in whatever you may need. We're here for you, we love you very much.

Alicia lo siento mucho mi mas sentido pesame.

From the time I met Mr. Nava  I can not name one memory were he didn't  bring a smile to everyone's  face, with his witty jokes to his welcoming nature. The love that he always showed Alicia and his sons was admirable.  Thank you Mr. Nava for always making me feel welcomed, third wheeling with you guys was always a blast! I hate to imagine the pain your family is feeling because although all I have is distant memories I am heart broken. I know you are in a better place and you will be watching over all of us.  Sending all my Love and Prayer to your beautiful family.

Our families spending time together with him will always be remembered. His presence, jokes, his welcoming nature will be missed and never replaced. God bless your soul Mr. Nava, and God bless Alicia and her family during this time of grief.
