Abraham served his country honorably in the Air Force from January 10, 1951, to January 9, 1955 and fought in the Korean war. Known for his sociable nature and ever present sense of humor, he brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.
Abraham was predeceased by his daughter, Elizabeth Barraza; son, Abraham Chavez Jr.; and his beloved wife, Socorro Chavez.
Abraham leaves behind a loving family including his grandchildren: Mayra Davila Salazar, Veronica Davila, Abraham Chavez III, Elizabeth Barraza, Mario Chavez, and Ruben Barraza; 13 great-grandchildren: Aaron, Angel, Aariana, Angelina, Annalise, Jaycob, Adam, Iliana, Luciano, Sylvana, Joshua, Sebastian, and Ana Brenda; and 2 great-great-grandchildren: Aaliyah and Azari.
A service to honor and celebrate Abraham's life will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home on Carolina, from 11 AM to 2 PM on November 21, 2024. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 PM at Ft Bliss Cemetery.
