David grew up in El Paso, TX but those who knew him best, knew he was always all over. You can ask anyone, and they could name a number of places he’s lived. It was always what was best for him and his family. Some of his fondest memories are thanks to all those places and people he met along the way. Especially Van Horn, TX. It’s always held a special place in his heart. Though he attended Austin High School, he never graduated from high school. It wasn’t until later that he went back and got his G.E.D. Something that he was very proud of. The things our father was able to accomplish in his life are nothing short of amazing.
He was a man who proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller. A stepping stone that spring boarded his life down a path of entrepreneurship. He LOVED being his own boss and showing the world he could do it. Regardless of what life threw at him. Life would knock him down and you can bet your ass Dad was back at it again. He never quit anything and fought for everything he believed. Whether that was for his roofing company Delta Construction or Preferred Transportation.
One place you could always find him was amongst friends. If he wasn’t on the radio with Kevin and Leesa Rutherford you could definitely find him hanging out with Larry Winget. Just some of the friends he held dearest. If he wasn’t singing karaoke, you would for sure see him with his Crown Royal in one hand and his cigar in another. Two things he loved very much.
The only person he ever loved more than life itself was his wife. Then of course followed by his three children and grandchildren. He was the definition of family. Nothing was more important than family, no matter what it went through. It had its highs just like its lows but he never turned away family.
We Love you! You left us entirely too soon! You’ll always be in our hearts and your memory will always live on through every life you touched!
