Opal Marie McDaniel

Opal Marie Click McDaniel of El Dorado passed from this life on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the age of 94. She was born on March 1, 1917 in the Spotsville community near Magnolia to Jessie and Minnie Hollensworth Click. She married Cline McDaniel on November 4, 1939 and at his death in 1994, they had been married for 55 years.

Out of this union, they welcomed three children, Larry, Delores and Ron. After her children were grown, she went to work for The El Dorado House where she worked in sales until its closing. She was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church since their move to El Dorado in 1960.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two infant siblings, her brothers W.T., Clyde, Bernard and Leon Click, her sisters, Pearl Marrable, Myrtle Chambers & Mildred Sanderlin.

She is survived by her children, Larry (Bobbie) McDaniel, Delores (Bob) Smith and Ron (Terri) McDaniel, all of El Dorado, eight grandchildren- Keith Smith, Michael Smith, Karen Stringer, Kelly Cummins and Valerie McLelland all of El Dorado, Lea Harris of New Orleans, Breanna Whitener of Austin, TX, Ross McDaniel of Little Rock and nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM at Grace Baptist Church in El Dorado with Rev. Terrell Langley officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in the Spotsville Community near Magnolia under the direction of Young’s Funeral directors. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
