Mervin W Barnes

Mervin was a veteran of the Arkansas National Guard and the United States Navy. He was retired from the City of Strong and was a member of Green Grove Chapel.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Ernestine Wooten Barnes; daughter, Patricia Barnes; brother, Milford Barnes; and two grandchildren, Georgia Dimler, and Kensley Pace.

Survivors include his four sons, Buddy Barnes, Frank Barnes, Monty Barnes, Tony Barnes; three daughters, Gloria Chadwick, Debra Dimler, Tammy Smith all of Strong; sister, Janey Lou Barnes; and thirteen grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at Young’s.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at Green Grove Chapel with Rev. Ricky Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Green Grove Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
