Mary Jo Taylor, 79 of El Dorado, passed away, Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. She was born May 18, 1935, to Luis Howard and Ruth Evelyn Nelson Howard Anderson in Huttig, AR.
She was very active in the American Legion, where she served as District President, and was of the Baptist faith.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Monroe Taylor; and step-father, Tim Anderson.
Survivors include her three daughters, Diane Anders (Richard), Mona Mason (Mark), Dawne Taylor; brother, Johnny Howard (Jackie) all of El Dorado; five grandchildren, Jennifer McElroy (Mark), Joshua Dumas (Lynzee), Clint Anders (Mallory), Jason Martisek (Christina), Bethany Gee (Jared); nine great grandchildren, Taylor, Hannah, Nick, Corey, Karlie, Cruise, Kambree Grace, Colt Monroe, Cheyanne Mary; one great, great grandson, Conner; niece, Jodie Vines; nephew, Pete Howard; constant companion, Beloved Sammy Taylor; and numerous family and friends who loved her very much and will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. tonight at Young’s.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Young’s Chapel with Rev. Don Travis, Rev. Gerald Hicks, and Rev. Charles Elliott officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Sheriff’s Boy’s Ranch.
