Martha Sue Wright, 86 of El Dorado, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. She was born September 26, 1928, to Gus Arnold and Ruby Lee Holmes Draper in New Orleans, LA.
She was a 1949 graduate of University of Mississippi, where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. Martha Sue held several offices in the Union County Genealogy Society including president, program chairman, and treasurer, and helped publish the society’s quarterly Tracks and Traces. She was a school teacher with the Shaw, Mississippi School System, and attended the First Baptist Church in El Dorado for 55 years.
Preceding her in death are her parents.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Noel O. Wright, Jr. of El Dorado; daughter, Sue Loe (Gary) of Arkadelphia; two sons, Noel Wright, III of El Dorado, Arnold Wright of Dallas, TX; two grandchildren, Adam Loe (Stephanie) of Bodcaw, AR, Dusty Coon (Chance) of Chidester, AR; and five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2015, at Young’s.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015, at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
