Martha Ann Patterson Rankin

Martha Ann Rankin, 83, of El Dorado, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs. She was born on July 20, 1935 to William Lloyd Patterson and Velma Smith Patterson in El Dorado, AR.

Martha was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints working in the Family History Center. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband Jimmy. They were avid golfers and could often be seen together on the golf course with family and friends.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Martha Amason Smith and Will Smith, two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Patterson and Francis Rankin and her husband of 64 years Jimmy Keith Rankin.

Survivors include a daughter, Angela Patterson; two sons, Benjamin "Benny" Rankin, William "Will" Rankin; brothers James Patterson and Rudolph Patterson, three grandchildren, Lindsey Smith (David), Michael Anders, Alex Bennett (Brad); and one great grandchild, Breanna Anders.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Donald Sullivan officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. to 1:30p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
