Marion Stewart Hicks

Marion was born on February 26, 1948 to Roy Stewart Hicks and Mable Neikirk Hicks in El Dorado, AR. Marion served as postmaster for post offices in Junction City, Waldo, Stamps and Quitman AR and retired after 35 years. He served in Navy during the Vietnam War as Flight Engineer. Civic minded Marion was a Rotarian serving as president in Stamps, AR for 10 years, and as an auxiliary officer with the Lafayette County Sheriff Office. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister in law Fran Hicks and brother Shep Hicks.

Survivors are his wife of 53 years Janice Anglin Hicks; sons Roy Hicks of Heber Springs and Richard Hicks of El Dorado; brothers Jackie Hicks of Calion and Richard Estes (Linda) of Pace, FL; a sister Lavinia Kelley (Chuck) of Three Creeks; sister in law Debbie Hicks; Grandchildren Kyler Hicks, Jacob Hicks, Zachary Hicks and Jeremy Hicks and a great granddaughter Mia Hicks. Along with his brothers in law James Anglin (Martha) and Robert Anglin (Cheryl), a special uncle Jim Niekirk and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm, Friday, February 10, 2023 at Young's Funeral Directors. Graveside services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Smackover Cemetery.
