Jerry Franklin Rogers, 73, of El Dorado, passed away, Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. He was born July 9, 1944, to Franklin Thomas and Flora M. Mason Rogers in El Dorado, AR.
He retired after 30 plus years from Conagra, where he worked as maintenance supervisor. Jerry was a member of Three Creeks Baptist Church and the HRP Hunting Club. He loved to hunt, fish at Lake Chicot, gardening, but most of all he loved his grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents; brothers, Randall and Jesse Joe Rogers; sisters, Ruthie Bryant, and Jean Post; and great grandchild, Kacen Kyle Hamaker.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Horne Rogers of El Dorado; son, Franklin Rogers (Kristi) of Junction City; daughters, Melissa Williams (Ronnie) of Garland, TX, Jeri Lynn Gandy of El Dorado; brothers, John Willis Rogers (Gloria), James Hilton Rogers (Frances) both of Junction City; sisters, Mable McLelland of Junction City, Emily Prothro (Jerry) of El Dorado, Colleen Coale (Bob) of White Creek, DE; grandchildren, Tiffany Hamaker, Kyle Hamaker, Madi Williams, Mason Gandy, Natalee Jerry, Madison G. Rogers, Erin Rogers; and great grandchildren, Nichole Thurmon, Gavin Thurmon, Avery Hamaker, Karson Hamaker, and Emma Gandy and his canine buddy, Sissy.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Young’s.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Three Creeks Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Inmon officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
