Jackie was born in El Dorado, AR to Christine Cates and Max Martindale on March 16, 1953.
Jackie was a chicken grower for 30 years and a mud logger. He was an outdoorsman and especially enjoyed duck hunting with his in laws on Felsenthal. Jackie was a wonderful husband, father and his most joyous role of all was being a grandfather. He also loved his numerous nieces and nephews. In his later years he witnessed about the Lord and always had a positive spirit.
Jackie was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Christy Lynn Martindale; and brother, Eddie Welch.
Survivors are his wife, Joyce Orr Martindale; sons, Jay (Jeri) Martindale and Craig Martindale; along with grandchildren, Alisa Smith, Jayden Smith, Kennady, Dakota, Lilly, Ty, C.J., and Camille Martindale; brothers, Dennis (Marsha) Martindale, David (Connie) Welch; mother-in-law, Bobbie Orr; brother-in-law, Jeff (Tammy) Orr; sister-in-law, Janis (Tommy) Gates; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2018, at Young’s Chapel with Rev. Bob Inmon and Rev. Grant Barnett officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Scotland Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
Serving as pallbearers are Lane Griffin, Reese Griffin, Austin Frugie, Jacob Orr, Jonathan Welch, David Gates and Kevin Tompkins.
