Born in El Dorado on March 5, 1929, he was the son of Herman F. and Beulah Brasher Murray. Tag grew up in the Old Hillsboro area and attended Pleasant Grove School until its closure, finishing his senior year at El Dorado High School. As a senior, he worked for the El Dorado News Times and upon graduation started his career as a refinery worker with formerly Root Petroleum, Amoco, American Oil and presently owned by BP, British Petroleum. Survivors include his loving wife, Berta Jean Lowery Murray; daughters, Linda Murray Hogue, Brenda Lowery Daniel, Libby Lowery Garrett, Beverly Lowery Pipes, Marilyn Lowery Murray, Donna Lowery Lindsey; sons, Bruce Lowery, Allen Lowery, and he was “Granddaddy” to numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
