Hello, my name is Ginette Massey, you don't know me, but I use to sing and talk music with him on Smule. We don't live in the same country so we spoke on the phone sometimes. He was such a great guy and musician. I'm so sad that I won't be able to have these interesting conversations with him no more. My heart goes to all the family, I'm sending you my condolences. So sad for you all. 


We have known each other through grade finished in 87.  A friend  I will never forget. Just a couple of years ago we hooked up on facebook chat for a while.  You had surgery and stupid me did not check back with yoy.  I had surgeries too.  I can not bring you back but I miss you like crazy. LOVE YOU CHRIS❤😘

My condolences to your family my sweet friend. You were my “Rockstar” I remember I used to always tell you that when we sang together. I could feel your “embarrassment” through our messages. Although, I know deep down you really did enjoy the fact that we all absolutely loved singing with you. I will miss our late night talks, you quizzing me on song lyrics and all the games we used to play together on messenger. Above all, I’ll miss you. You hold a special place here in my heart and memory my friend. I didn’t tell you enough, but I do love ya. I hope you are rocking out up in heaven and showing them what an absolute Rock star you really are. Until we meet again. Fly high my friend. 

Not only is Chris the best guitar player I've ever known, he is also one of  the kindest and most genuine people I've ever met. Most people with his level of musical talent weren't near as humble. I met Chris when I began managing Bensberg music while he was teaching guitar lessons there. I was a guitar player and quite a bit younger than him so I really looked up to him. He could make the most difficult things look so effortless. I loved talking music with him and he loved EVH and KISS. Chris, you will greatly be missed by so many. My thoughts are with his family, friends, and all that were touched by his music. 

So sad!  Chris was a great friend.  The days we spent listening to him rock out on a whim to Van Halen and others were memory makers.  Every time a conversation occurs about musical talent I always bring up Chris.  I really enjoyed those days and greatly miss those days.  Live on in peace my friend.

Chris was my rock n roll fantasy.  Always was a sweet soul . I used to go watch him play in clubs before I was old enough to get in. But I wasn't there for anything but to hear him play. 
We reconnected a few years back and lost touch again. But he was just as he always was. Down to earth and sweet.

Chris was a sweet and gentle soul.  My grandfather Alvin was best pals with his uncle Joe Parks, and we shared that connection.  Once on a camping trip when we were thirteen, Chris and I got into some mischief with a bottle of the grown-ups whiskey while they were out fishing.   A memory we laughed about because of the hard lesson learned.  After high school, I lost touch with Chris.  We reconnected on Facebook in the last six years and had some wonderful conversations that I'm very grateful for.  I loved talking music, guitars, and songs with him... and of course we talked a lot about KISS.   I always admired Chris because he was so talented and so humble.  My sincere condolences to Cynthia, Steve, Wade, and the rest of the family.   

Cynthia and Steve, I did not know Chris but one evening one of us dialed the wrong number and ended up talking abut 30 minutes. He was polite and nice and told me about his musical likes! My deepest sympathies to your entire families. It’s  unknowable the pain of losing a child. May the Lord wrap you all in his arms.❤️

Chris was an unbelievable guitar player and teacher. 
I remember him playing in one of the studios learning a song that his student wanted to learn. He would pick it up and then share it with them. It was an incredible talent. 


In the mid to late 1980s, I was a young kid eaten up with playing guitar.  There were several guys around Chris’ age that played.  Having been a few years younger, the other “so called” players were mean and hateful to me when I would ask questions and get excited about music and such.  Too cool for school.  The crazy thing is that all of those cats weren’t a fraction of what Chris was as a guitar player and a person either. He was miles ahead of them. He was so kind and encouraging to me and I’ve never forgotten it. I still play to this day and Chris was my very first guitar hero. Deepest sympathy to his family and loved ones and I hope he rests in peace.  Thanks Chris for meaning the world to a punk kid that looked up to you. 

Odie called me yesterday to let me know that Chris had passed. Needless to say, we both found it unbelievable.  Odie talked about the wonderful guitar player that he was and that he would email him from time to time.  Due to health reasons, I won't be able to attend the gathering, but wanted to let you know how sorry I am and pray that you will find comfort in your many good memories of Chris.

Back in the day I’ll never forget those days when we visited el dorado I got to go to band hall w my brother and chris and wade which they didn’t want me to go but to listen to the best band I never knew .. chris tried to teach me guitar but I was Unteachable .. he was  amazing I’ll never forget the earlier years and the time w him and the leverette family.. he will be greatly Missed.. my heart is full w this great loss to close family .. love the leverette !

I have fond memories traveling to Arkansas growing up and spending time with Chris. I will always remember how much I admired and enjoyed listening to him play his guitar. I always enjoyed listening to Chris play guitar when I would visit. He had a crazy sense of humor  and will be missed.

We are all deeply saddened to hear the news of Chris's passing. I fondly remember our family visits to Arkansas and seeing all of the cousins in Eldorado. Chris was much younger than me but he was always joining in on the activities. When he was little he would grab a hold of my hair and it was hard to get him to let go. I enjoyed talking with Chris during our last visit to Arkansas when our grandmother passed away. My deepest sympathies to Aunt Cynthia (Tom), Steve (Karen), Wade (Cindy) and all the family members. May you find comfort in sharing time with one another during this difficult time.
