Ernestine Barnes, 72, of Strong, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. She was born February 23, 1940, to Robert and Lula Frisby Wooten in Union County, Arkansas.
Ernestine was a member of Green Grove Chapel and a homemaker.
Preceding her is death are her parents; five brothers, Avon Wooten, Carlton Wooten, Robert “Booties” Wooten, Donnie Wooten, Melton Wooten; sister, Maudine Henry; daughter, Patricia Barnes; and two great grandchildren, Georgia Dimler and Kinsley Pace.
Survivors include her husband, Mervin Barnes of Strong; four sons, Tony Barnes, Monty Barnes, Frank Barnes, Buddy Barnes, three daughters, Debra Dimler, Gloria Chadwick, Tammy Smith all of Strong; thirteen grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, at Young’s.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at Green Grove Chapel with Rev. Ricky Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Green Grove Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
