Billie Jean Perdue, 88 of El Dorado, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born on August 20, 1930 to Ervin Jackson Jones and Berta Benson Jones.
She worked as a phlebotomist for the Diagnostic Clinic for 30 years. Billie was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, was a member of the Rebecca Sunday School class and the United Methodist Women. She was a volunteer for Hospital Auxiliary for thirteen years. She enjoyed cooking, and crocheting prayer shawls. She had a special love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, John Allen Perdue; and sister, Helen Jones Burns.
Survivors are daughters, Kay Cobb (Rex) of Farmerville, Marilyn Avery (Joe) and Debbie Bashford (Micheal) all of El Dorado; grandchildren, Jeff Avery (Nikki), Karen Freeland (Ronny), Jamie Cobb (Kennon); great grandchildren, Brett Avery, Jana Avery, Olivia Freeland, Jackson Cobb, Ty Cobb, and Destin Booker; and several nieces and nephews, including Mark Burns and Janis Slusher.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2019 at St. Mark United Methodist Church with Rev. Winston Roden and Rev. Steve Pelz officiating. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
