Betty J. Woods

She was born May 5, 1955 in El Dorado to John W. Gill and Florence E. Crew Gill. Before retiring Betty worked as a machine operator at Cooper. She was a softball mom for the Quannas Club and was a member of First St. James Baptist Church. Betty loved to shop and cook. Most of all she loved her grandkids and spending time with them.

Preceding her in death are her parents and her sister, Jacquetta Gill.

Surviving her are her husband J.T. Woods of El Dorado; her daughters, Shanda Kesee, Teresa Ben, Alesia Woods, Keniqua Ollison and Penny Hoosier (Kevin); sons, Keith “Pooh” Woods, Keith Woods (Denise) and Brandon Dawson; sisters, Patricia Warren Buggs and Carolyn Hart; brothers, Jerry Gill (Betty) and Johnny Ray Gill (Kathy), 12 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren and special and dear friend, Rema Vartenian.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2023 at First St. James Baptist Church with Rev. Felton F. Burgie, Rev. Roy C. Aaron and Rev. Billy Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
