Wilburn T.C. Davis left us on September 2, 2016 with his family at his side in Lakeside, California.
He was born October 15, 1935 in Oklahoma to Claude and Hazel Davis. Wilburn was most known as Dave Davis. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years to Ermina Davis and children Nina Calabrese, Valerie Tod & Michael Davis. His grandchildren include Ronald Kaopuiki, Regina Chapman, Leon Roesler, Leilani Howard, Joshua Davis and Mikayla Davis. He also has 10 precious great-grandchildren.
He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for 30 years and retired as a Gunnery Sergeant with an honorable discharge. He received the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct medal. After retirement from the military, he worked in the Criminal Justice arena in Protective & Security Services. He loved to Fish with his soul mate, his wife, especially at El Gulfo in the quaint Mexican town of Sn Luis outside of Yuma, Arizona. He loved to read novels, especially westerns, shoot on the fire, range was a very proud family man, and had some great sense of humor. His biggest Love was Ermina, his soul mate, they were inseparable. They were fabulous swing dance partners in the days of the style called Jitterbug at parties or night club.
His insight, words of encouragement, and love will be missed. His cremated remains will be laid to rest at the Miramar National Cemetery at 5795 Nobel Drive, San Diego, California 92122 on Wednesday, October 12th at 1130 a.m.
