Raphaela M. Bosco, age 86, passed away peacefully at her home in Descanso, CA on Wednesday, November 4, 2015. She was born on October 3, 1929 in Edam, Saskatchewan to Eugene and Alphonsine (Guillemette) Cadrin. She was one of 13 children and was fondly called “Rip” by her siblings and classmates. After the death of her husband in 1971, Raphaela returned to work as an RN and in 1977 graduated from the University of San Diego with a BS in Nursing. Her career in healthcare brought her many lifelong friends.
Over the years Raphaela returned home to Canada to reunite with her extensive family and nursing classmates. She treasured those visits and was sustained by the rich memories they provided.
Raphaela lovingly nurtured her children, providing wisdom and guidance while ensuring their educational and career pursuits.
Raphaela’s greatest joys came from her grandchildrens’ visits and in her last years, the great-grandchildren, who delighted her with their natural wonder and lighthearted play. She will be remembered for her grace and generosity, strength of character, and gentle sense of humor.
Raphaela is survived by her children Michel (Rhonda), Richard (Beverly), Teresa “Pam” (Michael) Mueller, Connie (Daniel) McKeever, Laura Brewer; step-daughter Patricia “Patsy” Belair; grandchildren Brooks, Britlyn (Armando) Romero, Michel, Frank, Rebekah (Joshua) Clifford, Elisheva, Nicole, Amanda, Chelsea (Bryan) Magnuson, Colin (Kelly) McKeever, Tonya and Taryn Brewer, Robert Erickson, and Chris Borowski; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; a brother, John (Fay) Cadrin, sisters Judith Fournier, Therese Weber, Berthe (Ed) Sande, and Helen Elefson; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Caregivers of Best of Care and to the staff of Mission Hospice for their exceptional attentiveness and loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Raphaela’s name to a favorite charity.
