January 2, 1934 – July 25, 2021
El Cajon, CA
Frankie Morrow passed away peacefully on July 25, 2021. She was born on January 2nd, 1934, or as she like to tell people ‘1-2-34’, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Eugene Franklin and Viola Victoria Jones. She was the fourth of four children. She was best known as Frankie, Mom, Gram, Gigi and Frankel!
She is preceded in death by her husband Bobby Lee Morrow, her father Eugene ‘Frank’ Jones, her mother Viola Dement Jones, her sister Oretha ‘Rita’ Luker and husband Bill Luker, her sister Ophelia Slagle and husband Cliff Slagle, her brother David Jones, and her granddaughter Amanda Doughty Sherrill.
She is survived by her children; Curtis Morrow spouse Marie, Barbara Tippin, Cynthia Dickerson spouse Gerry, Keith Morrow spouse Dana, her 5 grandchildren; Jennifer, Bobby spouse Kristin, Christopher spouse Brittany, Shane spouse Brenda and T.J and her 9 great-grandchildren.
She married Bobby Lee Morrow on December 13th, 1952, in Yuma, AZ. She had four children, Curtis Morrow, Barbara Tippin, Cynthia Dickerson and Keith Morrow.
Frankie and Bobby retired in 1980 to Indianola, OK. They bought a farm and a store. In 1984 they moved back to El Cajon, CA. Then in 1989 retired again and moved to Atoka, OK. They had 160 acres and a beautiful house, Frankie’s beautiful garden around the house (She was very proud of her yard), a great big garage (Dad was very proud of his shop) and lots of cows! The kids, grandkids, brothers, sisters and many relatives came to visit the farm to see them and to fish in one of their ponds. In 1994, Bobby was diagnosed with lung cancer again after being in remission for several years. Bobby wanted Frankie to be near their kids and grandkids, so they moved back to El Cajon, CA. Bobby passed in August 1995. Frankie lived in the house they bought until her death.
They were both loved so much by everyone they met.
Frankie was the most loving and kind person you could ever meet. So many of her nieces and nephews have said she was like a second Mom to them. Some of her in-laws felt she was more of a sister than an in-law to them. Her family, friends and our friends always loved her and would come visit her when they were close to her house. All were always welcome to stay for a minute or for as long as they wanted.
We will always remember her laughs, her jokes, her funnies, her love of books/crossword puzzles/gymnastics and her smiles. She loved her family, friends and just about everyone she met! We will miss her dearly! She always said, ‘Family is the most important thing in life!’
Her burial is on August 20th, 2021, at 10:00 am at Alpine Cemetery, we will also have a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 21st, 2021, from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm at her home in El Cajon, CA
