Ellen Mae Andersen

Ellen Mae Andersen born April 19, 1925 at the age of 97 left this earth on October 22, 2022 to be with our lord. Ellen was married to Carl Andersen for 61 years and is survived by Carl Andersen II and Patricia Bailey in addition to eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Ellen was born in South Dakota but had moved to California and was a graduate of Grossmont High School. Ellen met Carl Andersen during the war when his stationed at Camp Lockett in Campo California and married in 1943. After the war they moved to Troy New York. After spending a portion of her life in Troy, New York the family moved back to California in 1964 where much of Ellen’s family had resided. Ellen worked at Montgomery Wards in Grossmont Center at first and later with her husband Carl Andersen in the Real Estate industry. Ellen and Carl enjoyed many trips including an abundance of cruises all over the world. After Carl’s death in 2004 Ellen continued to enjoy traveling with Valley Travelers and spending time with her friends in the Red Hats. Ellen also really enjoyed the large family gatherings at Christmas in the basement party room on Skyview St. Later in life she enjoyed gardening. Ellen will be greatly missed by her family long time friends. A celebration of life will be held in honor of her, in the near future.
