Roland Joseph Proulx

Roland passed away peacefully on October 4, 2019 at the age of 87 years. He is survived by his children Chantal (Jacques) LaForest, Diane (Larry) Schaub, Gilles (Brenda) Proulx, Alain Proulx, Dan (Pamela) Proulx, and Rachelle (Steve) Lautischer; their mother Gisèle Rousseau; grandchildren Alain Labonté, Carmen Randell, Denis Labonté, Roger Schaub, Jason Schaub, Melissa Mooney, Nicole Proulx, Trevor Proulx, Kelsi Proulx, Leandra McAdam, Dominique Proulx, Niklas Proulx, Carter Proulx, Kira Proulx, Kegan Proulx, Quentin Lautischer, and Amber Lautischer; along with 13 great-grandchildren.

Roland is predeceased by his son Jean-Yves Proulx (Cheryl), and grandson Marc Labonté.

Roland grew up in Rimouski, Quebec where he started his lifelong career as a welder. In 1965 he, along with his wife and 5 children, moved to Bonnyville, Alberta where he continued his career and had 2 additional children.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at a prayer service on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at 7:00 pm at Hainstock’s Funeral Home, 9810 – 34 Avenue, Edmonton, AB. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 10:30 am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 8410 – 89 Street, Edmonton with Père Jean-Claude Ndanga officiating. Interment to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Edmonton.

In lieu of flowers donations to the MS Society of Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
