So sad to hear of  Mick's passing. Apart from being an extremely interesting and well-informed conversationalist, he was a model of personal integrity, which he demonstrated throughout his career, both as a steward of the forest, and as instructor and program head of NAIT Forest Technology.  Our lives have been enriched because of our interactions with him, and our country is a poorer place with his departure.  To Mick's family, please accept my deepest sympathy.  We will all miss him. I as well am surprised to hear the passing of Mic...just saw him at the market selling his fine goods before Christmas.  Will miss his fall visits at Kidney Lake, being a hightlight that I looked forward to every year... great gentleman to look up to.

On behalf of myself, my family and the NAIT Forest Technology Program please accept our most sincere sympathies in the passing of Mick. A truly fine person, Mick had an intelligent sense of humour, a true sense of compassion and a thorough knowledge of the art and science of Forestry. Well into retirement, we always looked forward to Micks Fall visits to our Kidney Lake Field Training Facility (...always bearing wild rice, traditional cranberry jam,"real maple syrup", and great stories). So we say a farewell to a wonderful friend, a forestry pioneer and a grass roots forest silviculturist dedicated to sustaining Canadian Boreal forests.

I was surprised to hear the passing Mic .He was my instructor at NAIT 33 year ago . Made  a positive impression on me and others

Rose and family: my sincere condolences to  the Lalor family. Mick was my first boss ever, in the Forest Service. (Summer of 1956) . His  dedication and commitment to work had a major influence on me, for which I'll always be thankful. Truly, one of the good guys. He will be missed.

You were both such an important part of my early years in Calgary, and, of course, Mick and his extended family were very close to Ray's extended family in Manitoba. 

I particularly remember his smile and his droll sense of humour.

I'm very sorry to read of Mike's passing. He truly left a legacy in forestry through his many ventures and I valued him as a friend.

There is never a good time to lose a loved one. For him though it was great that he didn't have to suffer with a long illness.  He will be missed. Mick and I were great pals at UNB and good friends while we both were with the Forest Service. We both shared a lot of good memories while working in the bush around Slave Lake and the Eastern Slopes. He was a super guy and will be missed by all who knew him.
