Martha Aletta Roth

Aletta Roth passed away March 22, 2014 at the age of 91. She was born March 1, 1923 in Wayne, Alberta to Wanda (Seutter) and Herman Lengert. Aletta grew up in the Ritchie neighbourhood of Edmonton and attended Ritchie School and Strathcona High School (now Old Scona). After her marriage, she provided office support for the family business that she and her husband George built up. Roth Sheet Metal was near their home in the Norwood area. She was a loyal Sears customer and employee, working with Sears for 32 years. She always had a positive attitude and was helpful and friendly to everyone she met. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her loving family, Lawrence (Barbara), Irvin (Ingrid), Carol (Rick) Abbott, Jeanette (Doug) Saumer, Darlene (David) Webb; grandchildren Brian Roth, Karen (John) Young, Dorota Roth, Kevin Wirtanen, Annette Roth, Shelley (Chris) Neilson, Julianne (Victor) Symons, Mark (Michelle) Abbott, Andrea (Carlos) Barbosa, Erica (Danny) Yost, Evan Saumer, Stuart (Morgan) Saumer, Melanie Saumer (fiancé Daniel White), Jessica Webb, Katherine Webb and Amanda Webb; great grandchildren Daniela, Adam and Gabriela Roth, Anika and Ian Wirtanen, William and Delanie Young, Edwin Symons, Deric, Arwynn and Raeann Abbott, Emma Barbosa, and Julia Yost; and brother Albert Lengert. Predeceased by her husband Gotthold (George) in 1982, great grandchildren Nathan and Alaina Abbott and by her brothers Henry, Clem and Cyril Lengert. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 29, at 2:00 pm, Memories Funeral Home, 13403 St. Albert Trail, Edmonton.
