Kathleen is survived by her children Bruce (Nicolette), Bryan, and Cynthia (Shane); her step-children Lynda (Darcy), Valdine (Danny), and Duane (Heather) and her grandchildren; Devin, Kayla, Suzanne, Anthony, Aurora, Kaitlyn, Brookelyn, Mackenzie, Sullivan, and Thomas. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon; and parents Elizabeth Arsenault and Leon Moret.
Born and raised in Edmonton Kathleen travelled to Nova Scotia and was among the first group of WRCNS to attend basic training at Cornwallis for the Royal Canadian Navy. Following her service, Kathleen returned to Edmonton where she worked for the City of Edmonton before becoming a paralegal. Her final career saw Kathleen open Abigail’s Country Traditions with her long-time friend Eileen Stewart.
During her retirement Kathleen adored spending time with her grandchildren, quilting, attending aquacise classes, and meeting up with friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Hainstock’s Funeral Home and Crematorium 9810 34th Ave NW Edmonton, AB, Sunday February 19th, 2023 at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who are able instead to donate to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
