John is also survived by his daughters, Terri (Glen) Jackson, Sue Frank, Carol (Kevin) Frank, and one son, John (Lisa) Frank Jr. He is also survived by his stepdaughter, Stacey Young, stepsons, Bradley Young and Rod (Tammy) Young, as well as 16 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters.
Born in the USA, John moved to Canada in 1969 and worked in Brandon, Manitoba for a year before moving to Alberta. He worked in Forestburg and then for Alberta Power in Hanna, Alberta. Another move took him to North Bay, Ontario where he was employed by Atco Frontac until his retirement in 2001. His last move was to Edmonton in 2001. John enjoyed golfing, curling, baseball, cards and socializing, as well as travelling by land or by sea. He umpired baseball, coached ladies’ baseball teams, was a Scout leader, and then a District Commissioner for Scouts as his son grew up. For the past 15 years, he was a very active member of both the St. Albert ACT club and the North West Seniors Centre, always happy to lend his hand with any projects and activities.
A Celebration of Life to honour John will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Memories Funeral Home, 13403 St. Albert Trail, Edmonton, Alberta.
