Born in High River Alberta in 1953, George grew up and went to school at Wizard Lake Alberta. He later moved on to Edmonton to find the love of his life Annette, then to Leduc to raise their family of three sons.
George was a red seal Plumber, Gasfitter, Steamfitter, and Pipefitter. He served on boards and committees representing Alberta apprenticeship, and the UA local 488. He also had a long and rewarding involvement including serving as President of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Alberta. Through the course of his time on these boards he was able to proudly represent Alberta and Canada at the World Plumbing Counsel.
After and arduous but successful career as a plumber and later owner of Wil Mechanical, George and Annette were able to live out their dreams and travel the world. They eventually settled on Huatulco Mexico to build their dream home by the sea to host many family and friends to share their joy and happiness.
George is survived by his wife of 44 years Annette, his three sons Justin (Sarah), Clinton (Shadia), Tyler (Moira), his five pride and joy granddaughters Hanna, Lauren, Payton, Julia, Olivia, his mother Jean, his brothers Bill (Marg), Warren (Cathy), and sister Arlynn (Lawrence) as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father Bill, his brother Grant, and brother-in-law Ed Miller.
Funeral Services will be held at Hainstock's Funeral Home & Crematorium, 9810 34 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta T6E6L1 on Tuesday September 7, 11 a.m. for family and close friends.
