In addition, Alex is also survived by Joesph’s fiance Alyssa, mother-in-law Marlene, and father-in-law, Ralph.
Alex was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on April 1, 1965, to Alojz and Angela Ivanc. He graduated from the University of Alberta in 1987 with a Bachelor of Computer Science degree and worked as a systems administrator for Linux software in Edmonton. On April 30, 1994, Alex wed Catherine Betker in Edmonton Alberta within his family's company, and had their first child, Joseph Ivanc, on February 5, 1997. Their second son, Thomas Ivanc, would be born on July 27, 1998.
Alex was a beloved father, brother, and uncle. He enjoyed many hobbies from walking his Golden Retriever, Buckley, and camping. Throughout his long career, Alex traveled to Los Angeles, Austin Texas, and the Philippines for various companies. Though he enjoyed traveling to Florida for Disney World with his family, Alex enjoyed the comfort of his family home, watching Hockey and the original series of Star Trek with his family. He was a devout, private man who took his relationship with God seriously and often donated to his church and other Catholic services. His absence will be felt deeply by those who loved and knew him.
A private family funeral is scheduled for 1:00 pm on Friday, October 25th, 2024 at Hainstock’s Funeral Home and Crematorium (9810 34 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 6L1) in Edmonton, Alberta.
