A native Oklahoman, Bill was born in Oklahoma City, where he attended Classen High School and graduated from The University of Oklahoma. A member of ROTC, he joined the Air Force and fought in the Korean War. Bill officially retired as a Colonel from the Oklahoma Air Guard where he served as the liaison officer for admissions into the United States Air Force Academy. After the war, Bill worked for American Airlines in Tulsa where he met the love of his life, Nannette Little. A devoted couple, they can be counted among those rare partners who shared and enjoyed not only their lives but working together. They owned “Littles”, a staple for lady’s clothes and prom dresses for many years in Oklahoma City.
Bill did not know a stranger. He loved to share stories, jokes, and was a vocal Republican. He was a member of the Gray Eagles, OKC MG Club, and volunteered at the Myriad Botanical Gardens. Bill loved to grow roses and became a certified Master Gardener. He passed his love of OU football and women’s basketball onto his children and grandchildren. He was a devout Christian and greatly enjoyed Bible study.
He will be much missed by his family, including 3 sons and 4 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Nannette.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 27 at 1pm at Baggerley Funeral Home (Edmond). Those wishing to honor Bill may do so by contributing to the Myriad Botanical Gardens.
