Michael David Carpenter was born on January 30, 1960, in Oklahoma City, OK. He passed away on November 7, 2023, after a long-term battle with Lewy Body Dementia with his wife and sons by his side. He grew up in Oklahoma City and went to Putnam City West High School. He also attended courses at OSU/OKC. Mike married Veronica Cruz, the love of his life, in 1986 and was the father of four sons of whom he was immensely proud: David, Shawn, Jason and Jacob. He worked for Georgia Golf Corporation for 21 years and received numerous certifications and recognitions. Upon the closing of the corporation, Mike went to work at Mercy Hospital for two years until he was forced to retire in 2010 due to health reasons. He found tremendous joy in his walk with Jesus and enjoyed fellowshipping with his brothers and sisters in Christ. In his younger years he shared his love of Jesus with others by serving with Frontline Ministries and evangelizing through music and skits. He also loved being part of the worship team as their drummer. Mike was an outgoing man. He loved fishing and camping, woodworking, spending time with family and friends, sharing meals together and playing cards and games. He loved movies and enjoyed the classics but said NO to chick flicks! He had a passion for scouting and held numerous volunteer positions including serving as Den Leader and Assistant Scout Master. He was recognized by the Boy Scouts of America Last Frontier Council as the Will Rogers District Committee Chairman of the Year. He is preceded in death by his parents, Homer George Carpenter and Marjorie Joyce Carpenter, and his grandmother Mamie Rowden. He is survived by his wife Veronica and his four sons, David Carpenter of Oklahoma City, OK, Shawn Carpenter and his partner Chrys Martinez of Rialto, CA, Jason Carpenter of Oklahoma City, OK, Jacob Carpenter of Oklahoma City, OK and his brother Douglas Carpenter of Oklahoma City, OK. Memories of Mike will forever remain in the hearts of all those who knew him and loved him.
“Soar with the angels, my love, until we meet again.”
Your loving wife.
