Harvey Ellis Thurman passed away August 24, 2011. He was born December 9, 1931 in Ripley, OK to Elbert and Lola Mae Null Thurman. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Earl Thurman. He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Thurman whom he married January 29, 1959 in Stillwater, OK. He is also survived by his son, Jay Thurman and wife, Louise of Edmond, OK and 4 grandchildren: Courtney Thurman of Edmond, OK, Chad Thurman of Edmond, OK, Ben and Cameron Dabiri of Norman, OK. Harvey excelled in sports in high school and later was an active member in Stillwater High School Alumni. He spent his military career stationed in Germany and retired after 28 years of service with AT&T. Harvey enjoyed drag boats and fast cars, but most of all he enjoyed being with his wife, Betty and his grandkids. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Baggerley Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 6465 S.
