Clyde Reed, 80, passed away from heart failure on February 22, 2015, in Centennial, Colorado. He was born on October 13, 1934, at home near Irvine, Kentucky, to Elbert and Hazel M. (Tuttle) Reed. At age 7, his family moved to Richmond, Indiana. In 1953 he graduated from Centerville High School.
Clyde served 20 years in the United States Air Force, retiring in 1974. The highlight of his career was flying the F-86. He served in Texas, Japan, Korea, Oklahoma, Mississippi, South Carolina, Germany, Viet-Nam and Colorado.
In 1959, Clyde married the late Yvonne Andrews and they had three children: Eric A., Phillip A. and Kathryn L. After some nine years, this marriage ended in divorce. In 1971 he married Paula S. Jordan.
Clyde was a member of the Church of Christ and the F-86 Sabre Pilots Association.
He is survived by two brothers, James R. Reed of Statesville, N.C. and Duane Reed of Richmond, Indiana; three children; and one stepdaughter, Cindy of Colorado.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel, Edmond, Oklahoma. Interment will be in the Gracelawn Cemetery, Edmond.
