Christopher Thomas Winfield

Christopher Thomas Winfield was the epitome of a life well lived. Born March 3rd, 1971 to Thomas Francis Winfield III and Sandra Joan (Kuda) Winfield, Christopher always loved to say he was born at Hollywood Hospital in Los Angeles. He was raised with his younger brother Peter Winfield in La Canada Flintridge, California and Pasadena, California. After graduating from Polytechnic High School in 1989, Christopher went to college at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania and graduated in 1993 with a Bachelors in English and a minor in Theatre.

Christopher’s love for language and art extended into many areas of his life. He spent time on the stage, he was an extra in many 90’s television shows, and he wrote many sketches with his writing partner Ben Hersey for his comedy “trio” Hersey Winfield and Smith. He lived and waited tables in New York City, the city he absolutely loved the very most. After 9/11, Christopher began his own marketing business for local spas that eventually became a thriving social media-marketing obsession. He had SEVERAL parody Twitter accounts that were nominated for awards, written about in major papers, and went viral over and over again. His latest venture was for The National Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City as the creative vision behind Tim the Security Guard who ran their social media accounts.

Christopher loved 80’s music, funny movies, action movies, any movies, really. He loved to cook and share food as a love language. He loved sharing all things pop culture with his children. He saved all of his books and action figures for his kids. He loved Dr. Who (especially the tenth doctor), Star Wars, Disneyland, Indiana Jones, and Tron, where he got the name Flynn for his son. Christopher’s perfect day would be a dinner of ramen and then going upstairs to the movie room to watch a movie and eat popcorn with his family. That was his happy place.

Christopher was funny. He was always sharing jokes, memes, and gifs with his friends and family. He loved to make people laugh, especially his kids. He loved to tease his mother in law. He taught us to care about the little things, to always say I love you, and to find humor in everything.

Christopher would like to be remembered as a good husband and father. He was married to his wife Alison Renee Foster Winfield on May 19th, 2012 and they celebrated their 10 year anniversary in May of 2022. They met online when they both lived in New York City in 2008. They moved from New York in 2012 to be closer to their family in Los Angeles after the passing of Christopher’s wonderful mother, Sandy, in December 2011. In Los Angeles, they celebrated the birth of their daughter Gemma in January of 2015. In 2016, they moved their family to Edmond, Oklahoma to be closer to Alison’s family and welcomed their son, Flynn, in March of 2017. They lived happily by Alison’s mom and dad, Shirley and Norman Foster, and survived Covid lockdowns and all that scariness together.

Christopher is survived by his wife Alison, his children Gemma Jocelyn Joan Winfield and Flynn Thomas Winfield, his father Thomas and his wife Millie Winfield, his brother Peter Thomas Winfield and his sons Ethan Thomas Winfield and Liam Kai Winfield (mother Emily Winfield who passed in February of 2022), several uncles and cousins, two nieces and six nephews, and two fur babies, Clementine and Cherry.

The world will never know another person as kind, caring, talented, or loving. He will be missed greatly.

A memorial will be planned in early 2023 in Edmond, Oklahoma and in Los Angeles, California.
