Cathy Ann Scherler passed away at her home in Edmond on August 4, 2012 at the age of 56 years and 7 months. She was born January 4, 1956 to Hershel and Barbara Gandy in Pauls Valley and they relocated to Walters two years later. Cathy graduated from Walters High School in 1974 and from the University of Oklahoma School of Pharmacy in 1981. She accepted Christ as her Savior as a teenager, and united with the First Baptist Church of Walters.
Cathy was married to Mack David Scherler on January 6, 1974 and they had two children, Jason Scherler of Edmond and Jennifer Breshears of Oklahoma City. Mack and Cathy owned and operated The Medicine Cabinet located in downtown Oklahoma City since 1988.
Cathy enjoyed reading, doing needlepoint, crocheting beautiful gifts for her family and friends and planting and tending to the beautiful flowers around her home. Cathy always loved bringing family and friends together for big dinners and celebrations especially holiday dinners in her home. Her greatest joy was her only grandchild, 3-month old, Gunnar.
Cathy was preceded in death by her father, Hershel Gandy, and is survived by her mother, Barbara Gandy; husband Mack Scherler and children Jason and Jennifer with husband, Brian Breshears; grandson Gunnar Breshears, and mother-in-law, Wanda Scherler. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Reddick and brother, Steve Gandy; nephew, Joe Reddick, and nieces, Julia Null, Stephanie Stengle and Jessica Smith.
Services will be held Tuesday, 3:00 PM, August 7, at the Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel, 930 S. Broadway, Edmond, OK, with graveside services to be held on Wednesday, 10 A.M., August 8, at the Walters Cemetery in Walters, OK.
Visitation Hours are Monday August 6, 12-8:00 PM and Tuesday, August 7, 9AM-2:00 PM at Baggerley. Services entrusted to the care of Baggerley Funeral Home of Edmond. www.baggerley.com
