Blake Christopher Morgan – loving son, devoted boyfriend, amazing brother, kind-hearted friend and the sweetest soul – died on Thursday, March 4, 2021 in his hometown of Oklahoma City, OK. He was 33 years young.
Born on July 6, 1987, he was the son of Jon Marc Morgan, Sr., and Bernadette Louise Morgan.
Blake was known for his sense of humor, boundless kindness, and love of the outdoors, especially warm and vibrant Hawaii. He always had a smile for others and enjoyed playing soccer, board games and video games, paintballing and reading. When he wasn’t running outdoors or exploring creative worlds in the pages of a book, you could find him baking cookies in the kitchen, tending to his sunflower garden, or basking in the sun on the porch. He was a self-proclaimed goofball and cat dad, often found asleep with his and Haley’s cat on his chest. One of the most memorable qualities about Blake is his selfless heart. He would graciously illuminate the lives of everyone around him, casting them in the best possible light. His love for his family and friends was felt deeply by all who knew him. He was a helper and took care of everyone around him.
As a young, compassionate adult who loved with all his heart, Blake was also subject to depression that he battled for several years. He suddenly and tragically chose to end his life. He is survived by his parents; his girlfriend, Haley Danielle Johnson; his half-sister, J. Kristine Kilkenny; and his half-brother, Jon M. Morgan, Jr. He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Mary Louise and Lionel Reme Surprenant, and his paternal grandparents, John Arthur and D. Jeanne Morgan.
Funeral services will be held at Crossings Church in Oklahoma City, OK, on Wednesday, March 10th at 2pm. All are welcome. Social distancing and masks are required. A graveside service to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park, Oklahoma City, OK. The family will receive friends following the graveside service at their home in Edmond, OK.
The service will be livestreamed for those who cannot attend in person.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent in Blake’s memory to Heartline Inc. of Oklahoma to support suicide prevention services at https://heartlineoklahoma.org/get-involved/donate.
