Amy Diane McLanahan, 43, of Edmond passed from this life on Monday, October 24, 2022. Services have been entrusted to the care of Baggerley Funeral Home and a public visitation will be held on Thursday from 4PM to 8PM. A celebration of Amy’s life will be held on Friday at 11 AM at Crossings Community Church at 1500 W Covell Rd.
Amy was born on September 9, 1979 in Woodward, Oklahoma. She was raised in Woodward by her parents David and Jackie Hardwick. After graduating high school, she moved to Edmond to attend the University of Central Oklahoma. While pursuing a bachelors in Sociology Amy joined the Delta Zeta sorority (Epsilon Upsilon chapter). She was very involved in her sorority and later became President for Delta Zeta. While attending at UCO Amy made many friends with her fun-loving personality. She met Steven Paul McLanahan Jr. who would later become her husband in 2003.
After marriage Amy and Steve started a family and she made being a working professional and a loving mother one of her personal accomplishments. Once her children were able to start playing sports Amy was at every practice and game she could make as well as volunteering for whatever her children’s teams needed. Amy loved spending time with her family during the holiday season since Christmas was her favorite holiday. Friends and family will miss her laughter and silliness but will carry the love and loyalty she gave them forever.
Amy lives on through her parents David and Jackie Hardwick; husband of 19 years, Steven McLanahan; children Hadley, Rylee, Carter, and Tatum McLanahan; her brother, Scott Hardwick and wife Bonnie; her brother-in-law, Michael McLanahan and wife Sunnye; mother-in-law Debby Thornton, Debby’s late husband Ray; father-in-law Steven McLanahan Sr. and his wife Charlotte, two nieces; three nephews; as well as a large loving family and many loyal friends.
