Gerald David Staples, age 60, of East Stroudsburg passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 3, 2021. Born September 15, 1960 he was the son of the late Gerald D. Staples of East Stroudsburg and surviving mother Shirley E. Staples. Jerry was a 1978 graduate of East Stroudsburg High School. He went on to study at the Culinary Institute of America, graduating April of 1980. He spent his life dedicated to the restaurant business first as a chef and later as a Sysco Foods salesman.
Jerry was a devoted father, grandfather, and dog lover. He was an enthusiastic Philadelphia sports fan. He enjoyed Sundays with his children watching the Eagles play and eating “game day” spreads. He was also an avid supporter of high school and college football. He continued to follow the Cavilers long after his graduation.
Jerry is loving remembered by his daughter Jacquleyn Dodd and her husband Michael Dodd, his daughter Jessica Staples and her fiancé Christos Tsingelis, his son Gerald Staples III and his girlfriend Evi Kim, grandchildren Atticus Staples and Donato Dodd, step-grandchildren Athan Tsingelis and Ella Dodd, sister Debra Tingley, sister Julie Roksandic and her husband John Roksandic, and many nieces , nephews and friends.
A walk by visitation will be held on Monday March 8, 2021 from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home Inc. 27 Washington St. East Stroudsburg. Burial will follow at the Laurelwood Cemetery. CDC recommended guidelines will be followed.
